There are no tower blocks here, it has a truly authentic Spanish feel to it with its narrow winding streets and series of beautiful and well kept beaches, from the bustling Burriana beach to the very secluded Playa El Salon (see if you can find it!). On the outskirts of Nerja are the world famous Caves, one of the most beautiful cave complexes in Europe and well worth a visit.

Stay for a week and visit a different beach every day, all within a short walk, then eat in a different restaurant or tapas bar in the evening.

Nerja is situated about 50 kilometres east of Malaga and has a population of just 16,500. The coastline is fabulous as the mountains reach the shore, forming magnificent cliffs amongst which you will discover many picturesque coves and beaches. You could visit a different beach every day of your holiday!





As you leave your holiday rental apartment for a gentle stroll down the pretty, narrow winding streets into the town centre, you will pass many very interesting shops bars and restaurants offering any type of food your stomach desires!

The focal point of the town is the fabulous Balcon de Europa – with its stunning views over the sea to the west and east and is the perfect place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by, and the street theatre performers will entertain you.

Further east of Nerja, and well worth a visit, are the world famous caves of Nerja, which were discovered by some boys from Maro (the next village) in 1959 and were opened to the public a year later. Underground streams perforated the limestone mountains, forming huge chambers and strange formations of stalactites and stalagmites.

Nerja is a beautiful little town, nestling as it does, between the sea and the mountains. There are many pretty little villages nearby, but really, you might not want to leave Nerja as it has everything you need for a perfect relaxing holiday for families or couples.






There are many activities for you to enjoy: fishing, diving, waterski-ing, canoeing, water bikes, hiking, horseriding, jeep safaris, paragliding etc etc. If you like animals you may want to check out the Donkey Sanctuary which homes mistreated and neglected donkeys and other animals. They are always pleased to see visitors, especially with carrots!

Transport
All budget airlines fly into Malaga Airport (your closest airport). There is an easy bus ride to Nerja if you are on a budget or we can organise a taxi to pick you up at the airport. Of course all car hire firms operate out of Malaga airport and Nerja is a simple 45minute drive from Malaga, along a motorway.
